Since I'm more of a PC tech than an engine tech, I have no clue if what I am looking at is serious. The area in red was oil free, but after I let the engine idle for a while and checked this area the next day, there was this small pool of oil. Is this an easy fix?

I had a similar 'oil puddle' in the same place on my intake. I tightend the intake bolts and that took care of it on mine.

Easy fix. It may be fixed by tightening the bolts. If you want a sure thing you can pull the bolt and put a little black silicone on the threads and then put the bolt back in and tighten it down. A little dab will do ya. Viola no oil leak. Oil will migrate up the threads and puddle in the intake like this.

Tony, dont just tighten it. It will work loose and do it again. Get you some good ARP thread sealer and put that on. Then put it back in and torque to spec. Run the engine a couple of days and tighten it again. I have had great luck with ARP products and their thread sealer is second to none. It will not harden and clump up under the bolt like most. Never, ever use silicone.

A-ha! So thats what the black "junk" is squirming out from underneath the bolt. At first, I couldn't even see the washer...all I saw was this black stuff oozing out from underneath..it must be silicon then...
So where do I get this ARP stuff, any autoparts or hardware store? Is this a brand name?

I used the Permatex Black. You can get it at Autozone or any place like that. Just tell them what you are doing and they can help you find what you need.

OK, I finally got around to buying the thread sealer. I got Permatex brand Thread sealer w/ Teflon. It sounded good until I read the back..."keep away from flame, heat, spark, etc..."
Is this going to be a problem for me since it will be going on the intake manifold bolts (which I assume get pretty hot)?

It may only apply to the wet stuff in the tube not the cured product. When in doubt ask the manufacturer.
