Greetings,

Looking for some feedback. There is a small oil leak on my 85. My mechanic said he's not certain where it's originating - could be the timing chain cover or another area. It's not a bad leak, in my most recent 2500 mile trip, less than a quart was needed.

I'm not certain whether to pay to have it isolated and fixed or to wait until there is another issue, such as water pump or something similar and have it all done at one time.

Any thoughts?

Thanks....

All depends on how well you can put up with the mess, and how tight cash is. Worst thing about a leak is the mess it can make of the bottom side of the car. A qt to 2500 miles isn't all that bad if you watch it closely. I regularly was off the engine top and bottom, anyplace I can get the carwash wand into. If things are clean the leak is much easier to find. I have a small drip at the pass. rear of mine , when it comes out of storage in the spring I will repair that. Hate those oil spots.

Is it dripping or burning it?

I wish mine was dripping that little. One item at a time, tho.
