Question for you guys. Because I'm a little short on time right now, I had the oil changed at one of the Mobil oil change places here in town. I figured if anyone should be well versed in Mobil 1 products........... Anyway, oil change went fine, except for the part where I had to tell them about the extra 1/2 quart of oil (6 1/2 quarts total) they insisted wasn't necessary. I started the car afterwards and very quickly the oil pressure went up to normal (for cold oil) on the gauge, but the oil symbol in the HUD stayed on. Turned the car back off and reset the oil life sensor before driving home. The car's been off and on several times with the oil symbol in the HUD still on. I've checked the oil level and checked for leaks underneath the car with everything is looking normal. What's up with the oil symbol? Should I disconnect the battery for a bit to let the computer reset? Any suggestions? BTW, there's no messages in the DIC about this.

I'll do some research later today,I'm in the middle of a LT1 Water Pump!!:upthumbs

what is the oil pressure ?
did you check the dipstick ?

Solved

The problem wasn't a problem after all. I've got a lot to learn about this car! :bash I accidently changed the display to read oil pressure in the HUD. Okay, okay............quit laughing. I feel stupid enough!:chuckle

I'm just glad my car doesn't have an oil pressure problem!:beer
