oil pressure gauge?

hey guys i just noticed that when i turn my 92lt1 off my oil pressure gauge stays where it was when the car was running>>yet if i turn my key to acc it goes down to zero..if i take my key out the gauge goes back up until the car cools down...is this what its sopossed to do? i thought it always went down to zero as soon as i shut my car off but i could be wrong

I'm pretty sure that is normal, my 93 does that too. Its more important that it reads oil pressure when the engine is running.

Mine do the same so it must be normal
