Hi.
I'm just back inn after a oil and filter change. Pressure used to be 75 % on idle but are now 50 & increasing to 75 % on load. I used a thinner oil this time after cleaning the engine inside with "tuneup". Oil now is Mobil 1, 0-40 insotead of 5-30. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Steve:w

Couple things involved here. I assume you went from conventional oil to the Mobil 1 . The conventional will be thicker when cool than the synthetic.
going from 5- to 0- could make some diff also.
normal ? I really can't say for sure.

what oil filter?????

Are you thinking the brand of oil filter may have an effect? You may be right if that is what your thinking. If I remember right a number of yrs ago there was a filter that used cotton instead of paper. They did a very good job of filtering but were somewhat restrictive to the point that people running high RPM wouldn't use them. Puralator comes to mind but not sure.

There's an article on this by Amsoil. I'll dig it up and post it here after I watch some Horsepower TV.:upthumbs

I always use original parts and so it is with the oil filter. Genuin stuff from the local GM shop.
