Is this just a simple matter of a faulty oil temperature sensor?

How much do those generally run and how hard are they to change?

Could be the wire simply became disconnected from the sensor - that's what happened to me before. Have ya looked?

The sensor itself should not cost that much; it's not like it's a "Corvette-Only" part, but an oil change should be part of the package since you're going to be losing some anyway when you replace the sensor. ;)

Ken,

that really stinks cause I just changed the oil less than 200 miles ago. I'm going to check to see if the wire is disconnected. But if it's the worst case scenario of a faulty sensor, would I be okay waiting until my next oil change?

BTW, is that what you really look like?:L:L:L

The sensor is located above the oil filter, so actually you won't lose that much changing it out. I wouldn't be overly concerned with the oil temperature as long as the water temperature gauge is functioning. ;)
