Last thanksgiving I was headed home to Indiana when the vette just quit running. I finally got it going but if you pressed the pedal more then a quarter of the way it would die....so I babied it home and parked it. Today I went out and started in on it. Again it would run but not past 1/4 throttle. So logic would dictate a fuel problem. I hooked up the gauge to it and found I only had 12 lbs. of pressure. I opened up the fuel relay and held the contact down, the pump was running but only 12 psi. So I figured the filter must be clogged and holding it back. So I jacked it up and replaced it. Car started right up...but still had the same problem...so I broke out the 40.00 pump I bought and replaced the fuel pump....and lo and behold she runs better then ever. Fuel pressure is 45 on and drops to 35 when running.
I always thought that when the pump went it went all together and not bit by bit...so it went up to 58 today and I was out in style. Tomorrow it is supposed to be yp to 60...heck I might even take the top off.....

And it took an hour by myself to replace the filter and pump.
