On of our CAC old-timers, tangee-vette, has a nice orange Vette with has them and loves them. I'm sure he'll chime in on them soon enough. If you want to see some photos of them on his Vette, here's a link to his webpage..

He's a member of another Forum I visit,& I think you are referring to his Moon Roofs.They are a completely different thing,& I actually like those quite a bit.They're getting hard to come by also!:cool

Had one since 1999 and love it, the only downside is that it takes a lot of space to store behind the seats, but I have a 6 disc CD changer mounted behind the drivers seat which makes it harder.
Without the CD changer it may fit better.
I would and do recomend them
don't know if you can see it but mine is the blue 76 in the picture at the bottom of the web page here

Thanks for the plug 71Shark......and yes, I have the Moonroofs.
I will say, that these tops were the best purchase I've ever made for my Vette. A nice touch is that they were destined for the 1977 production year, so it's only fittng that a 77' sports them.
And as time goes by they're becoming rarer....as they cannot be repaired as far as the glass goes, so once a glass panel is cracked or broken, there gone!

Hi,Rick,Maximus(Jon) here! And those moon roofs look great,dont break 'em! I was just planning a search for those,when my '77 was totalled,& when you said they dont work on a '79...I was just a little disappointed....Oh,well:cry :CAC

Jon.......alot of the Moonroofs out there will fit 78-82 Vettes. As a matter of fact most have this configuration. The Moonroofs were originaly designed for the 77......but after the mfgr's dispute with G.M. they released the tops in the aftermarket. When G.M. made the change to a single latch system in 78' the Moonroof Corp continued to market the Moonroofs in the new latch style. I believe that the Moonroofs were in production until the very early eighties.
Recently "The Chuckster" made a Moonroof purchase from ebay.....only to find out they had the 78 and up latch system. He had them up for sale.......he may still have em', I don't know for sure.

Bottom line here;

If you really like the Moonroofs, they ARE an option for ya. You already know my take on these great looking and rare t-tops.

Rick :cool

Here's a better shot of the look the Moonroofs provide.....

CRAIG, do you have any inserts for the inside? here in fla, the sun can make it unbearable. i would need something to shade the interior.
