Well I finally pulled the trigger and ordered some TPIS headers. Hopefully I will have them by the weekend, and perhaps get put on the car. I also ordered some Wenol for polishing the rims I am about to strip. Thanks for everyone who helped me in deciding on which brand of headers to go with.

Just got mine in on Friday. Spent the weekend getting rid of the old and prepping the new. Got the headers almost all the way wrapped before I ran out of wrap. Gotta' get some more and finish the one collector. Might even wrap the Y-pipe.

Should be going on this weekend. Will let you know how it comes out and I might try and get a sound clip.

Nope... do not wrap coated headers... it will scour off the coating over time.

Read to see if this is recommended. I am not sure it is. The primary function of the wrap is to help contain the heat and improve the scavenging of gasses. Obviously, this only happens in the tuned pipe area. It will also decrease heat loss from the thinner pipes, which will help the CAT's (and your feet temperature). This is why I wrapped my coated headers, but seems rather ineffective. The lower sections are also vulnerable to scraping.

I highly recommend using the wrap paint as well, to improve the life of the wrap and reduce moisture retention which would attack the metal, especially in a 'moist' climate.

I did, but it decreases the already tight clearances at the bolts and plugs, while making no discernable power changes, unlike the naked tubes, IMHO.

I got the coated headers also. The main reason I went with the wrap is to try and reduce the underhood temps some. My car is a Speed Density (no MAF) and I have a K&N cone filter on the TB, anything you can do to reduce the temps some can only help. Whalepirot your comments helped me decide to go with the wrap also. With the Y-pipe being painted I thought wrapping that as well may help with the scavenging, plus help with the radiant heat in the footwells. Also I did use the high temp silicon paint to seal the wrap.
