I would have to agree with Brett. I think the car was red or white when it was born not copper.

It's a strange combination, but nobody can say with certainty that it wasn't produced that way. In the first three years GM was pretty loose with just about everything in a mad rush to sell cars and save the brand.

The car serial number was in the first 30 cars of 55, it was a white car that was painted copper very early in it's life. Several old timers looked at it at Bloomington. Although it had been repainted, it was a very good original car with the motor compartment being very very original. Original carpet and interior, trunk compartment was also very good. Although some people will tear this car down, it was a fairly nice original and someone will be lucky to own it!

It might be original, but the bell on the left wheel well - top center of photo - is a hoot. :w

Not too many left like this. Someone is very lucky to own it.

I wonder if it was stored in a barn... :chuckle

That was a special option, might have been the only one GM made that way................................ Dad and I looked at the car and was nothing but impressed at how well preserved the engine compartment was.

I am far from an expert on 55 engine compartments - but it does look very straight from what I can see.
The lines all look right. An excellent find.
