Some folks will recognize me from another forum ... others not.
I just don't post a lot here in CAC - but that may change.

I have been working lately on the restoration of a '69 gas tank.
It will be used in my 75/70 hybrid (73). Rather than post a series
of pictures here, I am trying to organize my projects into documents.
This way, it is easier to keep a complete copy in backup ... one file.
So, I have cleaned the tank, patched it, sealed it inside and out, and
it now hangs in the garage with a top coat of gold ... waiting for clear.
I wanted to complete the job and finish the document with a picture
of the tank installed, but weather has delayed that part temporarily.

Take a look at the first version of the restoration doc. I will update it
at a later date. In particular, I'd like feedback. Do you want more detailed
information ? More how-to steps ? Alternative materials or techniques ?

I can add a lot. Right now, it is basically pictures and brief descriptions.
This copy is low resolution for better transfer rates. PDF file is 1.9MB.

EDIT: Bad link fixed

I thought it was detailed, although I haven't had to do this yet!! (hopefully never!)
didn't look to be to awful difficult to do for a diy'er.
you might want to mention where some of the chemicals are purchased and how much they are,so we would have a ballpark figure as to what it would cost,or a total of much it cost,as opposed to having it done professonally.

NHVette,

That's a well-written, interesting look at your gastank resto. All I would change is the word "coupe" to "couple" in the last sentence on page 6. :D

Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing. :upthumbs

Excellent work.

I've never heard of you, Dave ;) and it's good to see you over from the Dark Side once in a while.

P.S. Had lunch a few yards from your house again the other week :D.
