What do you people think about returning Original parts to get your core charge back? Is it worthwhile to keep the part and have it rebuilt the next time? What about the folks that want to keep it all original... can you even tell them apart from the replacements? Right now I am wondering about brake calipers but I will soon replace or rebuild the steering gearbox (manual steering). Any input would be appreciated.

SInce the core charges are usually chump change, it's best in my opinion to keep the original parts if they are indeed original. Just about every part on your car has a date code of some sort and that makes many of those parts worth their weight in gold. Even if you never intend to restore the car, having those original parts can make it an easier sell later on down the line.

I agree 100% ... if at all possible, keep the parts & pay the core.

Even though it's "chump change", it's still something & I've run out of room in the garage & in the attic & I've never re-used any part that I've kept ...

:w :s :J

I guess you talked me into keeping the parts... I just hope I don't end up with a garage full like Don&Kelly did.
