Looks like the OEM Michelin snow tires weren't up to the job.
So you're coming home from your son's house after thanks giving and when you hit the Smokeys the snow starts. Best thing to do is get off the road, but everyone does that and the motels and restaurants fill up quick. Since I've made that trip 1 or 2 times a year since 1988 about 40,000 miles the car was equipped with deep tread narrow Dunlop tires I use to run in the rain. Travel was not a driving issue but I know what you mean and understand why stupid people do that. That's what I've always done with my Corvetttes and my first 3 were year round divers, after all it is an automobile not to be confused with a garage queen. It continues to amaze me that some people are so stupid as to drive a Corvette in any kind of snow situation!! I just cannot say anymore!Elaine

Well, Dad, you are very lucky if you haven't encountered any problems driving in snow. I've had Corvettes for many years and have never found them to drive well in heavy rain and certainly not in snow. And with the newer ones with those huge tires, it is even worse. The Corvette does NOT handle well in those weather conditions so why tempt fate?? Again, you've been very lucky, I'd say.

I hate getting caught in the rain - only an idiot would drive a new vette in the snow.
