Help! Outer door seals

Can anyone tell me any easy way of replacing the outer door seal on my 87. I did the drivers side and broke 3 clips. Have new one on order. I have the other side to do also. Can anyone help?hnoes

No short cut for leaving the door panel on that I know of. 2 tips may help you.... 1. Make sure you use a drill stop when drilling out the rivits, a hose over the drill works great.
2. Bend the tabs out a little, the ones that start/align with the door. And don't install the new rivits til your satisfied with the fit.

I used a rubber mallet to "tap" the seal down into place.

I had more trouble replacing those things than any other repair on my old c4, and I'm including the power brake booster replacement. It was infuriating, I broke one trying to get it on, so had to order another one. Took me two hours to do one side, and it never looked right when I was done, it was all wavy. I don't really have any tips for you, just be patient. I have no idea how they got these things on in the factory.

I guess 88's are different. Mine was easy. Factory holes in the door made it a snap. I just had to glue the ends..............

Oops, I think you are talking about the window seals, I did them also, their a little trickier................

That tip didn't work for me, I still had to drill out the rivets. Once that was done though it went pretty quickly.
