Just spoke with Justin at vette2vette and he had stated that I may need to go with the 90-93 Dash with Door Panels as these will fit just fine...

He is working up a price for me and has also answered many questions regarding my 1984. Seems to be a great and knowledgeable person. Very professional...

Hey Jeff and Ken, got most of the Interior torn out now...

Matter of fact, most of this 1984 Corvette is down to the bare...

Seems many projects going at the same time...

After speaking with Jason of vette2vette, I guess we are going to a 91-93 Dash... Not the 96 as we had started with...

Absolutely having a blast...

Taking many pictures during the disassembly so I will have records of what I have done and in what stage...

I like a challenge and this is going to be a good one...

No matter what I do, I cannot keep track of the various screws throughout the interior; I always wind up just using whatever will fit. And this is after I purchased the complete screws package on my last "restoration" of my interior.

I'm just putting all the Interior Screws/Bolts/Washers/Nuts in one bag and putting them up. As I do not know what is comprised on the 1993 Dash from the 1984, I will just get an Interior Set for the Dash and start from there...

Right now, I have the Interior Gutted, the Engine ready to pull out for rebuilding, all the Fiberglass Panels taken off for replacement (with the exception of the rear upper panel which is not able to be removed without breaking the bonding...

Getting There 1 Day at a Time

Well, just about to get there. Man, this was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Matter of fact, quite enjoyable to some degree...

Here are a few pics of my accomplishments so far:

This is about all the rust that I have found throughout the Project. Not bad at all. Just seems like a little surface rust. Will definitely have to take care of this before painting...

I would like to thank you two for giving me the motivation to get this done. I was first skeptical about removing the '84 Dash and tryng to impliment a 90-93 Dash to get rid of that FLAT LOOK...

Not long before I'll be getting in touch with Jason at Vette2Vette to get my '93 Dash on its way...

That is going to be one sweet '84! It's scary huh? But it'll be worth it if you keep after it and don't lose interest. My hat is off to you man.

Well, this weekend proved out to be a nice weekend to work on my "Outlaw Project"...

Here are a few pics to show some of my progress through the strip-down of my 1984 Corvette 4+3 CrossFire:

Got the Firewall stripped down to bare bones and ready for what little body work there will be on this to get it slicked up and ready for Paint...

Now have ALL of the Dash removed and also down to the bare Firewall. Was not as bad a job as what I had figured it would be. Did have a problem with the Insulation Blanket that was glued to the firewall for heat/sound protection. But did finally get it torn away...

Sure does look a little weird with the Gas Tank/Rear Frame removed from the Corvette...


Next part of Project Outlaw will be to get the Front Frame/Suspension torn apart/removed and to get the Upper & Lower Control Arms and the Front Sway Bar sent to the Platers for Chrome & Polish. This will then allow me to get the Front End Assembly cleaned up, wiped down and repainted...

Will try to get more later...

Not much done over the past 2 weeks, but a little teardown...

What better way to lift the Front End than with an Engine Lift...

At this Point in the Project, I am trying to figure which way to go as far as Suspension. Would be nice to do away with the Monoleaf Springs and go with a Complete Independent Suspension with Coil-Over Shocks (since I am going to need to replace the Monoleaf Springs and Shocks anyway...

Does anyone know of a Complete Coil-Over Spring/Shock Package for the 1984 Corvette???

Hopefully will get back on the Project next week and get the Entire Front End Assembly removed and ready for Painting...

Thanks Ken for the Info. I had looked in my Magazines from Ecklers, Corvette Central, and Mid America, but could never find any for my 84...

BTW, looks like your Project is going well...

Enjoyed reading about your entire Project from Day One. A lot of ups and downs, but will pay off in the end...

Just can't see giving Doug Ripple $1,595.00 for Coil-Over Springs (Less Shocks)...

Heck, even with shocks, $1,595.00 is too much...

I may check out Exotic Muscle and see what they have to offer...
