My Vette is the most forgiving car I've ever driven...except for bumper cars, and Hot Wheels. :) You can't beat a car with neutral handling, correct suspension settings, undamaged suspension components and when coupled with a competent driver.

I could just about fall asleep going into a corner, allow it to drift naturally to the outside of the corner, and wake up at the end of the drift to exit the corner at WOT.

If all his posting is Mustang BS, then he hasn't driven a sports car, just a pony/muscle car.

"Zfun" is:

His Name is "Bobby"
His Birthday is "N/A"
He's from "Atlanta" (GA)
His car is a "03' Silver Z06"

I could have sworn I looked at this yesterday and Zfun drove an "02'" and not an "03'". I'm sure that Rob can find out if Zfun and his new found supporter do, indeed, come from the same IP address.

Add your comments, advice or helpful hints... but please desist from tearing Zfun apart.
...or making a 'profile' of him...

I don't think it is necessary and certainly not conducive to solving Zfun's problem. Just because anyone thinks a certain problem is improbable does not mean that it is not possible for someone to be experiencing the problem he is describing.
Take it easy and be helpful.

Warning: This thread is on the verge of lockdown!

A few of the posts here are bordering on Use Policy violation. These forums are NOT the place for instigating and antagonizing comments, leave those at the door. And for the record, Gorgon is right about the IP info and NO, they are not the same. By the same token, that proves nothing and neither does the inflamatory remarks that I'm reading so it all needs to stop now.

The mudslinging and fingerpointing is getting old!

Like I said, enough of the mudslinging. If you have facts, post them and move on. Discuss and disagree all you want but you can ride a dead horse 'til the skin rots off and in the end you're right where you started.

Rob already intervened once and it appears this has run its course. Please post only if you have something concrete and on-topic to add. This is not directed at one person but to everyone. More than one person has had knee-jerk reactions, for lack of a better term, in this thread.

If there is indeed something afoul here, there's really no way us to be 100% certain and prove it.

Unlike most cars made for the street, the Z has a very noticeable tendency to oversteer when shifting (or just lifting the throttle) mid-corner. I have gathered in talking to other C5 owners that they too acknowledge this problem once I ask them about it.

 The second rule in Drivers Education for a newbe is...DO NOT SHIFT GEARS IN MID CORNER... PERIOD!!!

The Third rule is... DO NOT LIFT THROTTLE IN MID TURN...

Heidi, For those who don't track their cars... the first rule is.... DO ALL YOUR BRAKING in a straight line BEFORE corner turn in!

Zfun's comments on his & his wife's driving... suggesting turning OFF the active handling when the car has a problem cornering, would strongly suggest he does NOT understand basic fundamentals !

Both Zfun & the person on the other thread started out with the presumption that the ECU was involved in opperating the limited slip differental!

Anyone who has spent time setting up and running their car on a road course UNDERSTANDS the purpose of a limited slip differental and how it opperates!!!

No electronics... especially the ECU is involved!

In almost 8 years of forum coverage... these are the only TWO times... that I can recall, anyone assuming electronics control the limited slip differental!

These Corvettes are set up to UNDERSTEER from the factory and under normal driving conditions will self correct with the aid of the Active Handling system!

On dry pavement.... You have to really HAMMER the car and enter the corners at speeds well in EXCESS of normal limits in order to induce oversteer... ahh early Apexing helps too!

These are FACTS as requested... and I hope clarifies questioning "Zfun's problems" with the Corvette Chassis and Suspension.
