Working on a good setup for one of the guys in our corvette club in sweden ( www.vetteforum.org ). Could you guys help me with this cam question?

The setup:
With the lt1intake conversion.
Ported alu corvette 113 heads
headers
6 spd manual tranny

WHats your feedback on this cams Im looking at?

CC 269HR-12 218/224 .495 .503 ( with 1,5rr )112

CC 276HR-14 220/230 .510 .510 ( with 1,5rr ) 114

LT4 hot cam 218/228 .525"/.525" 112 ( with 1,6rr )

which cam would work "best"

I rather whant a littel more midrange torque then high RPM hp in this car.
Give me some tips.
It must pass the "sniffer" emession tests.

Thanks for your time...

( the CC cams are cheapes in Sweden )
I can also have a custom cam made pretty cheap.

Devil..

the 276 looks good, not sure if it would pass the sniffer, I imagine with a good tune it could..

What type of porting will be done to the 113 heads?

If emissions are a concern, and more mid range is important, then check out the Crane compucam series for the LT1 engine. I have one in my 90 vette (I know it is not an LT1, but they make a interchangable index knob for the nose of the cam to go into non LT1 motors).

It is a fantasitc street cam and should do a great job for you.

with a good tune, they should pass emissions. I hope mine does!!!

If you are looking for more midrange torque then go for the CC269HR-12

Thanks for your answers :)

pocket porting with a 3 angel vavle job. Stock size vavles are going to be used. Having toughts of going up in compression aswell, mill .7mm on the heads, we are going to use premium only.

WHat cam do you use and what is your setup?

Will the use of 1,6rr be a waste on stock 113 heads? I dont think they will flow much more then .500 in lift annyway. And mayby I can gain some mid range power with less lift?

Im looking a it extra at the CC 269HR-12 218/224 .495 .503 ( with 1,5rr )112 . Cause its very near the spec on the lt4 hotcam. And lt4 hot cam hase ben used before with good results.
The reason I just dont get a hot cam is that its overpriced here in Sweden.

If you could make a custom cam, how would that look?

Regards

Comp Cams should be able to +/- 3 degree of duration @.050 on their cams as well as change the lobe seperation.

ok..

Mayby you whant to hear the goals for this car.
A mid to high 12sec car. 380-400 hp at the crank.
Not going over 6300rpm.
Rather a 380hp car with more torque in midrange then a 400 hp car that peaks at 6500rpm.

Keep the cam-tips roling in :)

How is the quality on crane stuffs? Never worked with crane.

Thanks

Id go with the 276. 1.6rr will lower friction, so they will still be beneficial to the valvetrain.
