Tony,

I'm the new owner of the Yellow SNAT435 listed at the top of page 3 in Callaways for sale. My car was in Automobile mag in '96 with your cars. Are you friends with the first owner of my car Chuck S.?

If so I have some questions about the my new Callaway that I was hoping he could help me with.

Also, did your SS come with an LT1 or LT4 from the factory? I'm inquiring about the possiblity of adding the SNAT450 package to my Callaway and I've been told that I must have an LT4. Was that the case with your SNAT450? I didn't see a red intake in the SS indicating it was an LT4 hence my question about the motor size. I believe your car stated out as a SNAT400 so any info on converting my SNAT435 to a SNAT450 with the LT1 platform would be appricated.

Thanks
FS

Sorry, don't know the owner.Just met him briefly during the day the article was shot.My Impala started as an LT1 & was converted to a SN450. Actually dyno #468hp @ crank.Conversion included 383 ci,Heads,Cam,Honker,LT
Headers,Reprogram Computer. The differences between the SN400,435&450 were in the cams & heads used.Hope this helps.:D

Thanks for repling.

So, if I understand this correctly. You have a SNAT450 and never used an LT4 motor to get there your SNAT450 is based on the LT1?

When was the SNAT 450 done?

The reason for all of my questions regarding the SNAT450 is I too want to go to the SNAT450 but I thought I would need an LT4 to do it. I asked Callaway Cars if it could be done and I haven't heard back yet.

Would you know what changes are done from the SNAT435 to SNAT450?

Thanks

Since Callaway replaces just about everything in a Supernatural engine(Rods, pistons, heads, cam, etc.)it doesn't make a difference if you start with a LT1 or LT4.As far as I know the difference between a 435vs 450 is more aggressive heads, cam, headers & program. For 15 more HP it might not be worth the cost but only you can answer that one.Good Luck:D My conversion was done about 6 years ago +/-

Thanks you have confirmed what I suspected all along and that's I didn't see the need to have an LT4 just to go to the SNAT450. In the limited research that I've done I couldn't see the need to have the LT4 due to the parts that make the LT4 are swapped out minus the intake.

Thanks again
