But to answer your question NO. As long as you use lacquer paint the worst thing that can happen is waste your time and $.

The blue on your vette and cycle seem to be metallic.

I thought all vettes after like 1982 or something were a urethane based paint??? My paint is a pearl-coat paint. (or it's supposed to be! :L)

If the color is a GM color or any other American car then the touch up paint should be lacquer.

The orig paint is of course not lacquer.
