Where do I find the color code on my 87 coupe?:confused

I am sure you can find it at the CAC... Let me try it for you...

Hmmmm, RPO numbers are "74 for Dark Red Metallic", and "81 for Bright Red". Having read "Dark Red" in your info I assume 74 is your GM color code. But can not be sure from here.

Visit http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/1987/87prod.html for this information.

On the inside of your console lid there should be a list of all options.Either above that or below it should be a Wa number. It will read WA XXXX.Thats the code the paint store will need.Near that it will also say bc/cc meaning base coat clear coat.

Paintdaddy is also right. You should have a label somewhere inside your car showing the RPO's as well as the color of your car.

Hey Paintdaddy, who is that blonde chich in your avatar??? She is pretty...

Paint Code

With reference to the location and paint code in you Vette, look in the center console in the rear area behind the seats, lift up the lid and see if you don't see a series of numbers and at the bottom will be the paint code. My 85 Vette Bright Red had a code of 8774 base/clear. Hope the location is the same. Doc

Shes a model that I found on another site a while back. Her web site is www.christina-model.com ,enjoy.

The reason I ask is the places that the clear coat came off looks like old red oxide primer but if you wet it with your finger....it looks like brown metallic so I don't really know what color it is.

Can you decipher the paint code and tell me what color it is......This car has a colorful history all it's own! Was confiscated in '88 and used by under cover law enforcement till they broke the hood cable......
