I have a 68/427 that could use a little body work (stress cracks) and a decent paint job. The car is Corvette Bronze, and I will repaint it the same original color. I don't want the most incredible paint job ever, but I don't want Earl Scheib either. Anyone have a guess at the price range of a paint job in southern California?
Thanks for your guess.
Steve

You may want to check out The Fiberglass Body Corvette Specialists in Hawthorne, CA. Ask for Scott (310) 322-8745. I have seen his work and it is pretty nice. My car is there now having some work done. You may also want to check out this guys site. http://www.jdcorvette.com/. Not sure on the prices for either as far as paint but both do good work.

Hope this helps,

Jim

hi although i live in australia i know paint, and i lived in ca for a number of years, my advise is any quote under $1500 $1800, dont bother, preperation is the key, here and the final polishing also, use base coat clear coat, of agood popular name brand, and like Jim with the 69 get other references from others that have used that painter, you should be able to get a good acceptable paint job done for under $2000. regards wayne.

Steve, out the door, expect at least $4500 minimum. The painting is the easiest part. It's the prep of the fiberglass that takes the most time and effort. Most of the nice paint jobs you'll see on C3's I'd say typically cost (out the door) $7000 on up.

Don't forget to consider if you are going to replace any emblems or pinstriping you may have. Do you want the old emblems/badges put back on to fresh paint?
