Can anyone help with pointing out a good tester for pain thickness on a corvette?

Ebay has ultrasonic paint thickness testers, just make sure it is compatible with use on fiberglass/plastic or other substrates, not just metal. Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge | eBay

And, you could try going to either an auto auction house or reputable auto paint shop and see if they would measure your paint thickness. Lots of places like this have them for their own use.
