After spending about an hour on the phone with Jim Hussey of SEM Products ( a very helpful fellow) we arrived at the conclusion that the best match would be the Landau Black (2-3 light coats) and then apply the necessary coats of paint # 13003 High Gloos Clear to get the sheen you need to match the original parts.
I just finished my door handle insert and it looks like a great match.
If you have read the report on Batee.com like I did you probably realize that the SEM Vinyl and Plastic Color Spray part # 452340 is not a good part number. Here is a link to their article that may help you.

Betwen this article and the one on Batee.com you will learn a lot about refinishing plastic before you start the task.

how would you go about spraying the center console without messing up your power seat graphics and such, just cover them carefully with masking tape?

I haven't done mine yet but what I intend to do is go to a paint store and get the tape that we use to tape tinted windows on a construction site, it comes off real easy without leaving a sticky mess, and put that over the graphic. I am going to cut a piece of tape just big enough to cover each graphic. And I am hoping that I can get the finish I want without to many coats because there is going to be a line around were the tape was. It is very important to cut the tape square so that it will look good. If that doesn't work I guess I'll buy a new one which is what I would have had to do anyways if I didn't try. I think I can do a good enough job to look good and since I never intend to use this vette in a show I am the only one that has to be pleased. Of course I will have to buy the boss her own vette if she doesn't like it. Now isn't that just a heart breaker. LOL :J :Twist :cu

i actually bought a new console from www.tld-corvette.com , but the finish is not shiny like the rest of the interior pieces, thats why im thinking about what your doing, thanks for the reply

I have pcought the glossiest black I could find and it still isn't as shiny as the origal plastic. I am hoping that the final high gloss clear coat will help. Just don't know yet , I haven't got that far with any of the pieces.
I have been spending a good bit of time epoxying the cracks in the door panels. I am usinf a two part epoxy that we use to set anchor bolts and rebar.

why don't you just get some SEM high Gloss clear and spray it That should mAke it a little shinnier and you won't have to worry about the graphics

i think thats what im gonna do, thanks for the website
