We have a 1995 Corvette Coupe and are going to have a Parade Queen ride in our Vette. If I remove the glass top may I have her sit on the fiberglass panel above the seats?:eek

I would put something under her that doen't scratch the paint.
I have seen this done before i would think that she doen't weigh to much.

I think the fiberglass can handle the weight since it is overtop of a steel hoop, but I would be really concerned about her moving around and scratching the paint. Make sure you use a soft blanket or something.

Also, there is the issue of her feet, where will she put them? On your console lid? It probably won't stand up to much weight.

A friend of mine at work does the parade thing, but he never lets them sit on the hoop for the above reasons. A decision you have to make on your own, though...;shrug

parade queen

I was going to have her sit on a towel. She is only 110 ponuds..
Thanks.

it will hold... Hopefully the towel will stay put though :eek

Good luck & welcome to the :CAC

Just for your information, racing organizations, such as NHRA and some road courses, consider the halo an integral part of the vehicle's structure and will allow the car the enter and participate with the removable panel off. Convertibles however are required to have a roll bar.

We do the homecoming thing every fall, so the kids do ride on the cars. The thing we have found that works the best is bath mats. One for the top of the car where they sit and one for the passenger seat. We also make them take off their heels off.
