I like the idea of riding with my parking lights on ....
Any easy way of wiring them to the ignition on my '75?

thanks,
Dean

just buy a daytime running light kit. Or tap a ignition feed wire from the fuse box to the wire on the headlight switch for the parking lights.

I agree. Here are DRLs on my 1967. The high-intensity filaments on the 1157 bulbs are lit.

wow ..no problem seeing you comming down the road ...looks great ....
The ignition wire hook up for just the running lights idea sounds doable to me ...
thanks

But when you hook up the running lights to the ignition don't expect them to be that bright. DRL's light up the turn signal filament which is why they are so bright. Thats how the system works on my 97 camaro at any rate and this guys DRL's look to be as bright as my 97's.

So I guess when I use a turn signal with the DRL in line the lamp wont get brighter just on and off instead...right?

I'm not sure all I know on my 97 it lights up the turn signal filaments and when the photocell thing detects less light it turns on all the lights to normal operation. So basically even though it has a light switch I've never even touched it LOL. I am not sure how the aftermarket systems work though, if I were you though I'de just buy a aftermarket DRL and give it a try they can't be that expensive.

On a side note I would test how the lense and pigtail react to the turn signal filament being always on. On my 97 it has turned the pigtail to a black charcoal color and become very brittle but hasn't affected the lenses as far as I can see. ...... Theres a downside to everything LOL .....

And the DRL on my car only lights the front turn signals and when you use the turn signals they flash normally but dont get any brighter only thing that changes is the rear turn signals flash too.

Dont think I would want to chance the extra heat buildup inside these older lenses ....I just didnt want to have to pull out the light switch one notch ( old switch and hard to tell how far to pull ) ..without turning on the headlamps every time I run the car .....
( And Oh yeah ..remembering to turn them off again )
Im going to check the local auto store to see if they have something that will work ...
I sure appreciate all your help.
