Hey guys, I just picked up an 81 Vette with 111K. It was whacked in the front (no good front end parts).

Items of interest:

1. Mirrored T-tops
2. A/C (all complete less the condensor)
3. Complete stock computer controlled carb, wire harness, etc
4. All engine brackets (pwr steering pulley is bent)
5. The AIR pump does free spin. As you know these are not available any longer new. I assume the one on this car will work.
6. Stock rims in good condition
7. Spare tire carrier and spare tire (mini spare)
8. Power driver seat, standard passenger. Covers need replacing, but hardware appears in tact. I powered up the car and moved the seat today.
9. Guages appear to be good
10. Rear bumper has minor damge, but is in good shape as well as the lights.
11. Power mirrors
12. Doors are in good shape, door glass is nice
13. Rear glass is good.
14. It has a Dana 44 axle that appears to be intact.
15. It has the stock fiberglass rear spring.
16. Cruise control servo is in place, status is unknown.

**I will post some pics on my site later and decide what I may or may not ebay.

Anything here you need, just drop me a note and we will see.

Chris

Can the power mirrors be retrofitted to an earlier car (say, a '79)? If so, what color are they (or can the guts be installed in my case), and how much?

Good question.

These mirrors are beige colored. I would guess it would make more sense to just transfer the entire mirror and repaint it than to just switch the guts.

I have installed power mirrors in cars that did not come with them (not a Vette-I did an S-10 and a couple of Fieros), by simply pulling the entire harness out of the donor car and transfering.

I could pull this harness, switch, and both mirrors while I am yanking some other things for $75 plus shipping. It will be the next week or two that I will get that done. I can even snap a digital pic if needed where the power source ties into the main harness for your future reference. The console uses a switch between the power windows to actuate these mirrors.

Let me know if that is something you would like to do.....and, I need to verify the power mirrors work too!

Chris, good to see you back in here! would that fiberglass rear spring fit on my 74? or will it require too much modifying

Robin, I really don't know if it will or not. I have to get a look under there and see what is different than the older ones. I do know this one has an aluminum Dana 44 diff vs. your cast iron unit. I will check it out.

Can you check the color tag? If it's RPO 59 (Corvette Light Beige), then it's already a match for my car. :cool

I'm definitely interested. Do you know if it's much trouble to access the mounting bolts that hold the mirrors to the door?

Also, how much for the water temp guage?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,

I just sold the door panels off the car, so it will be a good time to start yanking the mirrors.

The bolts are not too hard to reach AFTER the door panel is removed.

I am going to hold off on the temp gauge as I think I may pull all of those as a cluster.

Color wise????? The car has been repainted, so I can't be sure the current color would match the trim tag. It looks close....but no way to know for sure.

If you want the mirrors figure $10 extra to pack and ship them Ground. You can just paypal to chrisnikki@juno.com

Thanks,

Chris

BTW, I listed the seats here:

So your taking the car apart without me? What's up with that? Call if you need or want some help. I'll just be home mopeing around, watching tv, not fixing or taking apart a vette. Maybe I'll just go to bed without dinner.

Brian,

The only problem on wheels is shipping is expensive. Not sure if it would be a good deal for you unless you know somebody in the N.E. Florida area that would pick them up.

How about the wheel center caps and lug nuts?
It has them all in decent condition.

I don't know what they are worth.

Shoot me a pm with what ever you are thinking $$$ wise and we will see what we can do.
