Question: Performance chip for c4

Hi guys. I have a 86 convertible automatic. It is a stock car and I am woundering what is out the're for performance chips. I have looked around a bit but still not sure what to get. I use my car as a daily driver but still would like more power. Thanks

I would like to share my experience with you because EPROM is an issue most people are a bit unfamiliar. The binary files can be changed, such as VATS, MPH, disabling EGR. etc.
In most cases, the timing maps have been modified. With a little research and experience you can make these chips in your own garage for as little as $1.00 plus $200-$300 for a one time investment in equipment.
The challenge is just gaining some experience.
After having so much time with this, I have to say.here are some test results. for a custom chip created for this specific
1985 L98 Corvette which had a ported plennum, larger intake runners. The motor did dyno using stock and a custom programmed chip.
The custom programmed chip only gave 3 more horsepowers over the stock chip.
Considering all the dyno time used testing the chip and all effort to change the chip.
I have to admit that GM did a pretty good job with the stock chip.
I would save that money and save some more and buy a nice free flow catback exhaust as for starters.
