Has anyone used one of those new fangled performance meters that you plug into the cigarette lighter and it gives you the HP, torque, 1/4 mile time etc.?
Are they accurate ? Any particular one the better of those that are out there.

Thanks

Blueman I recently started a thread in c3 mods on the meter you are refering to . It is a Gtech pro model ,,, interesting gadget that I received as a birthday gift . I have yet to try it out but I started calibrating the thing tonite to see how it works . Fortunately I have some time slips from a while back to sort of cross reference the data .

Thanks, I'll checkout your thread, and watch for you to post the results of the first tryout after calibration.

They are fairly accurate. The units use an accelerometer to provide the metrics (0-60, 60-0, 1/4 mi, etc.); there is some error, but it is generally within 1 - 2%. The best way to use them is for ballpark work (e.g. 60-0 - if it takes 140 feet according to the unit, and the spec is 123 feet, then something is amiss).
