First...top posts or side posts. Mine has side posts and the negative terminal is on the passenger side.
Let me know if you need a picture and I'll try to get one for you.

on my 79 i believe the terminals faced forward with the neg. being on the passenger side. im going by memory though as the original battery ends on mine are long gone and replaced with regular terminals and a top post battery.

Mine has top and side terminals. In my memory the terminals faced forward but that doesn't fit. So I'll try it to the rear this weekend.

Thanks everybody,

Connected the battery an houre ago it was tight but it fits

Next problems to solve. The horn of the alarm isn't working and my electrical doorlocks aren't working. But with the wiring diagrams this shouldn't be a big problem.
