Hi. I am restoring my 59 and hope someone can help me with pictures of how an original car lookes like. Its not easy to do it without and only help from ncrs manual. Jonny Bergman Norway e mail : jonny@kbsas.no :)

Welcome to the CAC

I may be able to help with some photos. What in particular are you needing? My car is bare fiberglass but most of the inside and mechanical is untouched.

Hi Tom. It would be nice to have pictures from engine departement and also underside. How should correct rear axle look like? Is it bare fiberglas all over on the underside?

Yes i did Mikey. I am member and bought some stuff. Eric there suggested that i should contact you guys :)

Hi. No we had contact by e mail. No problem i can put it in there also ;)
Body is lifted of my 59 now and i have started with frame and underbody, vin is j59s106767. Its black now but found original crown sapphire under the body bolts.

Yes, the underside of the body is bare glass. Do you believe your rear axle is not correct? Since you have the body off post a picture.

Here is an older photo of my engine compartment. The air cleaners, radiator hose and oil fill cap are wrong. The heater duct is not connected to the firewall. I think I was installing a new battery. The carbs in this photo are 1956 but I also have the correct set.

Hi Tom. Here is the axle house. GM 25 must be older than GM27? Also numbers are incorrect. It drives nice 1800rpm at 55 miles.....

The 25 I believe to be just a mold number. The casting date for the differential carrier appears to be H157. You will see that there are the imprints of the screw heads at each end of this number as it was changed daily according to the date. H would be August. 15 would be the 15th day of the month and the 7 would be 1957 so no, this carrier is not original to your car. At those rpms @ 55mph I'd guess it to be a 3.08 ratio which would be out of a full size passenger car. I do know that a 3.36 will net 3000 rpm @70mph for comparison.

It looks like your transmission is too new for the car also. Check in the NCRS Driveline, either the print version or the online version and you will find vendors that deal in these items. They gather differentials and transmissions and recondition them, and may have a correct date for your car in stock. It really depends on how picky you are about having everything correct. NCRS doesn't raise a car in the air or crawl under one to judge these items so you don't need to worry about them that much. I also noticed a few wrong year parts in the photo of the engine before body lift. What are the stamped numbers at the front of the passenger side cylinder head on the block deck?
