Hi Tim, what part of Richmond are you in and have you taken your beast out to Centerville on Saturday nights? She is a horse and a beauty too.:lou

Randy

I live in Glen Allen--West End of Richmond. I have friends and family that live in Goochland and Rockville. They have mentioned seeing a bunch of old cars on the weekend nights sometimes. Whats the deal? When do they meet up and for how long?

Tim

Old threads never die, they just.......

Here are some new pictures today of my son's first ride in my car since installing the new motor.

Wish I could join you all at Carlise this year.

Doug,
What a great picture. My oldest son used to sleep in the back of my '67 coupe on the way home from Grandma's. He would sleep like a rock and the big block, stiff springs and Hooker side pipes didn't bother him a bit. :L It's fun to remind him of those times now that he is 31.

What a great story. Classic cars sure do tend to build memories, don't they? My son also fell asleep halfway through the ride today. I think the combination of heat, vibration and noise (chambered exhaust) did the trick, but he sure had a big smile on his face after we got home. And Mom enjoyed the "broom broom" noises and his attempt to "air shift".

I hope you don't mind...but I didn't like the red diamonds in the photo...nor the sidewalk....so here is my version of your photo....again, I hope you don't mind

Not at all. I photoshop stuff all the time. The picture looks 100% better!

The photo with the young man and the huge smile.....that was PERFECT....that could have been one of us when we are driving our beloved cars!!! I think he knows someday that he will have the keys....hence the huge smile!!!

I posted my car pictures earlier...but that was before the side pipes (which I really love!) and before I had gotten knock offs (bolt on) for it.....it has a different attitude now...people even look at it and approach it differently....pretty amazing...here ya go....before and after....

Wow, firstgear, too cool. I really like the change.
thanks Heaven.....the car was all original...but if you want it to loko like something else....well...I did and now it has a little attitude (I owuld say yours has a HUGE attitude) and I like it!!

Its a driver and for fun.......except today I went to go get it from the other house (we moved 35 miles away and the new garage isn't finished yet to put the cars in so they are at the old house while it is under construction) the battery was deader than a doornail...I tried everything to get it back alive...nope...so had to pull the battery...and of course all the tools were over at the new house....I found an adjustable wrench, small, but you know the overflow tank has to comeout of the way to get the battery out, and of course I dropped into the black hole of life the bolt that holds one of the clamps on....ugh....then pulled the battery, the tray was WET, meaning to me that there was battery acid in the tray so had to wash that out and get another battery....long and short of it....need tools WITH THE CAR....sigh...it is always something!!!!!

Off to the local hospital classic car show....and on top of all that, I drove 12 hours round trip yesterday and back to Chicago to pick up some display cases and now I have a sore throat and a 100.7 temperature....ugh...THIS SUCKS!

Those two additions make a big visual difference, that's for sure. The car looks great.

firstgear,
Good moves on your car.
I am a big fan of sidepipes and fully agree about the attitude they exude.
The wheels look great too.
These cars have some great lines don't they?

Thanks for sharing your pics..

Pedro

Firstgear,

It looks perfect now. I can see where it took on a more businesslike attitude.

Good choice

Congrats on the new look of your car. I have to commend you on your choice of bolt on's, rather then the traditional knock off's style. No sooner than the first time you will have to service them, you will be congratulating yourself, for the extra dollars you have just spent.

Good luck with the new house

Thanks Tom....you know how these cars go.....the closer I look at it the more cracks and blemishes I find that need attention......there are a couple of pieces of chrome tht look ok, that need a little attention but for now I am leaving things alone....I need to get my money saved up for the C1....the wheels took a chunck out of the car fund....I direct deposit every payday a slug of money into the account.....between the motor for the C1 (350 converted to 383 stroker) and the new wheels for the C2 it has put a major dent in the car fund.....I am trying to not dip into my 401k to borrow....just more money that has to be paid back....I have only 28 more months of spousal support...when that is done, I will be far better off and then I can increase the car fund as well as a couple of other things.....started out at 70 months....so 28 more months doesn't look so bad!!!

Thanks, we surely need to sell the other house.....anyone need a house with an 8.5 car attached garage? At times it seemed to me that I could easily put almost 9 cars in it.....and I do like the knock offs/bolt ons.....
