Your car looks great,I loved the looks of the 61/62 rear veiw because it looks like the midyears.

But the 58 thru 60 have really grown on me alot. If I was shopping for a new project car I would be searching for a 58 thru 60.

Thanks for sharing the photos
My car is a 15 footer.....I have decided that most cars look good in a picture.....mine is a prime example....in the picture she is sweet, in person....the need list is endless.....paint, all the chrome, dash, blah, blah, blah....or should I say....$$$, $$$, $$$, $$$....well you get the idea...but it was basically in good shape with a nice solid frame.....my gal and I liked the chrome....the teeth.....that was what won over our vote....

Is that the same car?
Same car. I purchased the car from widow of owner 1962 to 1976. He had repaired car by June 1962. She gave me some of his pictures. When I bought it in 1976 it had not been driven in 6 years. No chrome, no interior, no engine. I stored the car for 17 years. Began frame off in Sept 93. Drove for first time May 1998.
Its a driver.

Thanks for sharing. How great is it to have those pictures,I know today our cars are collectable cars but back in the day that might of been the guys dailey driver, the car he had to take out with its drafty top and all to travel the snowey roads of plattsburg NY.I am sure the roads we see today are not the same as the ones he had to travel

Thanks Again

You Know John I knew you had a C1 But forgot and for some reason I just always figured you as a midyear guy,

Ps people still think of me as a mustang guy, when they see me in a corvette they are shocked,I guess I still have that Mustang look to me

The 60 is in the AVATAR. Has been in the family since '62 when my Dad bought it as his daily driver in Pittsburgh PA. Often wondered what he was thinking driving that around in the winter on the Burgh's horrible roads, but when you're 23 it really didn't matter. Need to figure out how to post a larger pic. Also, have some nice shots from way back of Dad and the Vette.

Firstgear, now what you're saying bout a 15 footer...I'd give the our 60 about the same...you're list is about the same as ours!

my 61 have had it since 84 total rebuild will post early pics if i can figure it out . the car is the signature :W steve

This car didn't come from Castle Hayne NC by any chance?? If it did I saw the same car in pieces...

Duntov-097, is that "basket case" 57 the same car that's on eBay now? If so, sorry to see you are selling it and my condolences.

Yes thats the same car. I have agonized over selling it. It is a great car and so close to being finished, but this hooby is supposed to be fun and this car doesn't do it for me anymore. Too many memories. My father and I did the Corvette thing together. When I had extra money I paid, when he had extra money he paid. I handled most of the mechanical work and my father was the head cheerleader, organizer, partsrunner, door and window assembler, extra hand, and every other little detail guy that is needed to finish a car. We were a kind disfunctional team sometimes but it always seemed to work out. I wll never sell the orange car and I hate to see the other car sit in the garage and collect dust when someone else could be enjoying it.

Here is a pic of the orange car Larry posted earlier the day we brought it home. I've got some more basket case pics of other cars we've drug home.
They are just like big model kits :) I'll post some later.

Mike, it was ten years ago, but as I recall it was a small town just outside of Hickory, NC - don't remember the name of the town. The body was still on the frame, but almost everything else was in boxes (and it had its original engine) :)

Too many memories

Well a picture thread just never gets old and it gives a chance to be able see each others cars,

Larry,

You are 100% correct.
In the spirit of sportsmanship (and envy because I don't have a straight axle)
I present you with the next best thing...
pictures of someone else's car!!

I found this at Volocars.com. It is for sale for $84,000.

It's beautiful and I thought I would share.

I'm enjoying all the pics and stories. This is a great forum.
