I've been thinking about finally using some real cleaning products (other then water) on my car, i was thinking about getting the Zaino Kit. It comes highly recommended from a friend with a black C5, who loves it. My only concern after all the material i've read, is this:
The pinstripes on my 82CE look like they've been applied to the car after/on top of all paint. Do i not use the clay bar on them ? I am afraid i'd peel off those stripes. :eek Anyone have any experience with 'sticker' type stuff on their cars and the bar ? Thanks as always..

I've had no problem using claybar over pin stripes. I even used clay on a 50th Anniversary with the Pace Car decals.

I think it depends who put on the pin stripes/decals. If they were put on by a professional, you should have no problem.

If you think that the clay may start to remove the pin stripes, stay away from them when you clay.

I never even used the clay bar. I just waxed her up and she looks like a mirror. I was scared to use the bar, because I also have decals. They are somewhat of a hindrance when cleaning.

I have a Grand Sport. The red hashmarks are decals, as well as the pinstriping. I have never had any problem using a clay bar, but then, of course, the decals were put on at the factory.

If you have any concern at all, just avoid the decals. By all means, however, use the clay bar before beginning the wax/polish routine! It makes a huge difference :)
