You might want to take a look at the Firestone SZ-50's...
www.tirerack.com shows them as having one of the highest rating overall from all the tires. When I got my 85 I put a set of 16's on her and this year I went to the 17" and am completely satisfied at the dry road performance as well as the excellent wet road performance.
With the GSC's on her they could easily be turned over and smoke abounds...the SZ's are not that easy to turn over as they have a greater tendancy to grab...just an observation.

i had pirelli tires on my 90.
they seemed to get hard and rode hard too
i put on kumo tires(spelling) and like them so far
i think they are competitive too

If you are cheap and poor, Kumho.
Check out tirerack for sure, even if you don't buy from them you know the down home price. The sets I have ordered get from them to GA in 3 days. Shipping is less than sales tax.

im cheap khumos are great tires for price just took a set off wifes coupe and put on gy f1 gs as they abetter in rain now have spare set for my car like i said im cheap

I have found the Yokohama A520 to be a very nice tire. Sticky on dry and very responsive on wet. Also comes with a price tag of less than $100. ea.
