I am a new and first time owner of a 1993 coupe. The PKE system works as the book says it should, but the manual also says that when you turn the "auto" action off, you should be able to lock and unlock the doors using the "door" button on the fob. Is this true? When I have the auto system disabled and I press the "door" button on the fob, I hear a small little sound but no action takes place. If I open the drivers side door to exit and use the lock switch on the door, both doors lock as they should. But after shutting the doors, pressing the "door" button on the fob only unlocks the passenger side door. Do not understand why this is happening. I would like to be able to exit the vehicle, shut the door, press the "door" fob button, and have both doors lock and set the security system. When returning, would like to be able to hit the "door" button on the fob and have both doors unlock and the security system disabled. Is this possible? (I know that this is exactly what the "auto" action of the PKE system does, but I like the manual option better.

Thanks...

The PKE works exactly as you described it & is described in the manual.

It is not as other vehicles that lock & unlock with I guess you would call "keyless entry"

The PKE is a system unto itself.
