Hi everyone...first time poster here. Tried asking this on another forum and didn't even get a response, so hopefully someone here can help.

I'm a fairly new owner of a 1994 ZR-1. A few days after a major stereo upgrade, my PKE system stopped working. I have new batteries in both transmitters. Tried re-programming them...car would not recognize either transmitter. Tried turning on/off PKE with the remote. Nothing. Checked the PKE fuse and it's fine. PKE light goes on when key is turned and the car does auto-lock.

Any suggestions?

Thanks! :beer

Interesting read, even tho I have no PKE system to deal with. My 'fav' Deutsche maker requires ALL of these functions to be done at a dealer; something I realized the value of when I had a C6.

So, the stock radio (and changing it) has no effect on the system? :w

Don't know much about the system but here is some info I found....hope it helps.....should be others chirping in on the problem soon......

Thanks for the link, although unfortunately there isn't much in there about diagnosing various problems. Sure wish there was! :beer

Doesn't seem to. As I said, these problems cropped up a few days after the install, and it was an "all of a sudden it just stopped working" kind of thing. I did read that the PKE control module sits behind the Driver Information Center, so it's possible that it wasn't reconnected properly and came loose. I'll be taking the car back to where I had the install done so they can check it out.

Hopefully it is as simple as a connector not fully engaged. :w

I would think the installer did something as it was working ok before the install.

As for the light coming on when the ignition is turned , that signifies the system is active. Try holding down the door button & see if the door locks cycle?

I have a bunch of info on the PKE. If you would want me to fwd to you, my e-mail is lsylvestri@sbcglobal.net. I can't seem to upload on this site.
