Any codes ? whats the fuel pressure ?

We did a test on the car today and it had a 46 code-running lean. It also show that the 02sensor is not working , we had replaced it and still showing the same thing. We don't know if we have the wrong one or not. Don't know if it is upstream or down. By the way don't it have two 02 sensors or just one? If anyone can tell me where the wires go from the 02 that may help, we still haven't got a volt meter and the test light don't work. Also we cut the cats off before the engine was taken out , would that cause it not to have the right back pressure? No mods to car and I don't know what the fuel pressure is.

On start up, the car should be operating in open loop which would mean it is using no feedback from the O2 sensor. Once the car reaches operating temp it switches to closed loop operation which then starts reading the O2.

I would check the fuel pressure. You can do this without starting the car to get an idea. Put a pressure gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Have someone key up the car, but not starting. The fuel pump should prime, and pay attention to the pressure it builds to.

What year and engine are you working with?

Jake
