Hi

I have the opportunity to either take a solid top or plexi top for a coupe or should l take them both?

My gut says that they plexi is all that l need, the color of the coupe is Torch Red.

Take them both. Besides- you may not want the plexi in the summer... a cool interior may mean more to you especially if you plan to take the top off if you want some sun. Then, in the winter you can put the plexi on so you can get some sun!

I will have to strike a deal with my wife. I cannot think of another thing that l don't do around the house by making so many deals.

Just show her the replies to this thread. You have to get both! And like someone already said, if the car came with both tops. they should both go with the car - and at no additional cost. That's the "right" thing to do, but it certainly doesn't mean it'll happen.

Sounds like a really nice car. Please show some pics when you get it home. Congrats! -John

I took them both and both of them were like new if not better then new,

The entire car is pristine to almost a fault! I drove it home yesterday (450 miles) and it was a joy for sure.

What l loved most was the HUD. I don't know how l lived without it before.

Alan
AWESOME!!!!!!
Did he charge you for the other set of tops? Did they come with the car? Just curious. Congrats again.

Solid top

Yes he charged me $400 and it is brand new, not a mark on it or any other part of the car.

I'm telling you it looked brand new even the matts and the seats. I looked under the car and it looked like he never took it out.

The tires appear to have 70% left front and back.

The engine was never touched except he changed all the fluids on a reg basis. The brake fluid was clean and perfect. It looked like he just did it. The oil was again like he just did it. But again he owned a repair shop for 32 years.

Now l'll screw it up. Oh his wife cleans the windows because she is more flexible then he is.

Under the lic plate was so clean you could lick it.

OK enough.

The vette came with the solid top and he had to buy the plexi top, he gave me the bill from the dealer. It was done before he took posession but he had to keep the solid top. The bill is dated from the dealer.

Sounds Great

Good luck and let's see the pictures!!!

$400 is a steal for a plexi-top the dealer wants $1200. you did real good. I paid 6 for mine shortly after I bought my C5.
Lets see some pictures

Just planned a trip!

When the weather breaks my cousin (C6 vert) and l are planning on going to the Museum or Lime Rock. I used to take him there for the SCCA racing B prod races when we were younger.

Alan

p.s. I just realized that l might have picked up some road salt when l drove home from Ohio. Tomorrow l will clean it off as best as l can in my garage.

Road Trip

The Corvette Museum.

p.s. If you come down to Englishtown let me know and stop by my house.

Adjustments

Hi

Someimes l feel l'm losing it but is there something that can make an adjustment to loosen or tightin the top?

On my C4 l would have to make small adjustments from season to season.

Thanks

Alan

Sounds like you got a great car, and a great deal on everything. I enjoy reading stories like this. Best of luck with everything. -John

NOPE - one of the true great things about a C5. The top comes off in a few seconds and back on the same way. No adjustments needed. No wrenches either!!!

I have both , but I like the extra headroom when I use the plexi top

I'm a midget ???????

I'm only 5' 7" so it's a non issue.

thanks

Alan

Durring the hot summer months, you will be wanting the painted top.

I have the vette in my garage!!!!!!!

Thanks guys and the solid top is in my son's room.
