Hello and good day,

I am finishing up my 81 shark and I need someone to tell me or show me if possible how all the shields go back on the block and heads for the plug wires. It's been a year since I took it alll apart and I'm foggy on how the shields came off and went on.This is an important detail I dont want to over look as I have invested a lot of time and money in to building the puney L81 into a 400+ horsepower monster. But after spending 70.00 on custom fit plug wires I want them to be installed correctly so I dont have worn or burnt wires. I have shields to go around the boots where the headers are , I just need the ones that go under the heads. Any pictures or diagrams of both sides of the block and shields installed will be or great help.

Thanks so much :)

I will take some pictures later today, when the sun is up, of my engine.

But I would like to talk with you about your engine mods, offline. I finally determined that my engine has never been rebuilt and with 135k miles, plus I had two intake rocker arm studs come out, that it is time to pull this engine. So I have lots of questions for you.

Later,
Lanny

OK sounds good ..or we can do it on yahoo messinger.

Just as others have said here, the assembly drawings only show how they should be installed; however, some things were not precisely installed (like the smog sticker under the hood -doubtful anyone took the time except to slap it on when the car conveyor moved the car down the line).

distributor shield...

Thanks Gerry, Thats just what I needed. I have the insulators to go arounf the boots to protect them from the headers and I made insulators to go between the looms on dr and pass side rear just down from the dist.

Again 1000 thanks!
