Popping in the rear end.

Ok I have changed all 6 u-joints and i still have this popping sound coming from the rear of the vette. It does it when you get it gas and let off. Any help ????;help;help

Any chance you didn't get one of the caps properly seated inside the little tab in the yokes?

Does it change AT ALL, when you're in a turn?

Check the tightness of the big bolts which old the C-beam to the transmission and to the rear axle housing.

See the FSM for the torque specs.

I just changed the rear end dope gonna see if that may be it. The popping isn't all the time. It will pop a few times when the car is taking off. It's like the harder the rear of the car goes down when you take off it will pop. Also when you let off on it. I'm gonna do wheel bearings soon , but I don't think that is it. I will check the bolts going to the rear end tomm. I about to go blow the back tires off of it tell something just breaks then heck at least i'll know what it is.

I'm gonna do wheel bearings soon

Rust buildup on the splines between the outer yoke and the wheel bearing are also well documented causes of weird rear end noises
