Am thinking of taking vette on a relatively long jaunt -1500 miles and am wondering what you would take along as necessary spare parts since most are not available along the way. car is 64--------327/300 mostly original with new radial tires, coil, alternator-rebuilt. thanks:beer

Since old Corvette water pumps castings are a little different I would take a spare or at least one of the rebuild kits. Points, condensor, cap and rotor. brush set for the alternator just in case. These cars really don't have a lot to go wrong with them when they have been maintained properly.

Along with the usual hand tools I like to have some elecrtical repair stuff too. A multi meter, jumper leads, side cutters, electrical tape........ and belive it or not I have used my bloody tire plug kit a couple of times too :rotfl

Cell phone and your AAA card. :)

Seriously, I've driven our 69 on several LONG trips, Baltimore to Bowling Green, Baltimore to Montauk, LI, NY, and Baltimore to St. Louis, MO.

NO problems. Don't worry...have fun. Chuck
