Posting For Ron Smith's Stolen Vette

Got this e-mail from Ron last night and thought I'd share it. Looks like I'm actually going to meet him after all this time. He's moving 3 -4 hours from me so I have no problems with a short road trip.

I'm still holding out for the return of his Vette too.

Hey Donnie,
Hope all is well with you. I'm busy getting ready for my move. Hope to be in Georgia by the end of Feb. On the corvette front, I talked to the detective two weeks ago and they are still undercover and working the case along with other stolen car cases. He repeated what he told me a month or so ago. They have received more information that the car is still in the Bay Area. In the meantime I have bought another 1970 convertible 454, 4-speed, black on black. It's just like my stolen Vette except for the color. I've been driving for 46 years and of that I have had a Corvette for 34 years. It has been 6 months since my Vette was stolen and I just got to the point that I needed a Corvette. So I guess if my red one shows up I'll have two. But most likely I'll sell the black one. This summer I plan to drive from GA to Boston. My Daughter is in Law school there. Was thinking that I could stop by your place and say hello on the way back.

Take care,
Ron

Well lets hope us folks up in Boston get to meet Ron too! Maybe when his plans get firmed up he can post on the Regional boards :-)

^^^^^^ That's a good idea. He's not much of a computer guy but I'll e-mail him about that.

Has there been an update on this? I sure hope they found it.
