Power Brake Booster??? Hissing

I hearing a hissing noise from the brake pedal/firewall when I depress the brake pedal. My guess is that I need a new power brake booster. Any ideas, suggestions, hints would be great. Thanks!!

Yep, if it's hissing and the pedal doesn't want to go down, it's the power brake booster.

I changed mine out in April and it was quite a task. It took me 4 hours to do it because it was extremely difficult for me to do the work laying upside down and the two nuts weren't easily reachable.

The brakes work fine, they just hiss. I'm going to get the part this week, and tackle the job over the weekend.

Been there, done that

I went through the same thing. Yours sounds like it is just starting. Had to drive mine a week with no power brakes because my truck was in the shop. Take your time and some extensions with swivel joints and you can reach all the bolts. To reach the ones inside the car I was upside down in the seat. My wife still laughs about seeing that <g>.

The thing with me was that the blood starting rushing to my head and I would feel kinda woozy so I couldn't work for too long a period of time. It would be work for a minute, rest, work for a minute, rest...:L:L
