Power Brake booster or Master Cylinder

On my street returing home from a 20 minute drive I pressed on the brake pedal and it felt very solid with no give. I had to use extreme pedal pressure to stop from about 10 mph.. My car is a 91 Z with 60,000 miles that apparently has received excellent care in the past. Suggestions as to what might be wrong??
