Power Brake Booster

I know the correct booster for my 72 is black but i like the look of the 78-82 boosters that are gold and match the finish of the actuators and other parts. My question is will the newer ones fit the 72 ok? I think they will since the chrome plated ones that many parts houses sell fit all years 68-82. Anyone know for sure?

Shouldn't be a problem swapping a painted one for a chromate one. Just compare the new one to your original before installing it. I have never found the gold coating to be very durable, so you may want to consider applying a semi-gloss clear coat to maintain the color.
