Power seats and Door Locks won't work

Boy oh boy, when it rains it pours. Now my seats and power locks won't work. I went down to the dealership to get that 10.00 fuse for the seats/doors, and when I plugged it in, it got real hot in about 30 seconds???? The seats/door locks still didn't work, any ideas??

Boy or boy are you in for some fun. You definetly have a short in one of the systems. You have to isolate each one to find out which one it is. The only thing they have in common is they are both run off the same fuse...drag...disconnect your anti-theft mod and then plug a fuse in..does it get hot? if so, it's in your seat system and visa-versa...after you find which system it's in, then you need to start disconnecting individual components to find out which one is shorted. A labor intensive project to find a short, no doubt. I have schematics for all if you like. Good luck with it...

Seats and Door locks

Hi, My 88 did exactly the same thing. Took apart each connector under both seats, applied die-electric grease to all connectors. I also eliminated the 30 amp. breaker, went to a 20 amp. fuse. It's been working fine ever since. I figured the fuse would just blow instead of getting HOT. You never know, I could have just disturbed the problem but seats and locks are operating.
