Hi all,
I bought another door, complete except for interior panel and key lock. The window is electric and it is down, doesn't seem as if it works either. I can't get the motor out with the window down in front of it, and I don't think I can get the window out while it is down. Is there a way to raise the window so I can take it apart? Thanks for your help.
Craig

Hey Craig,

I don't have my assembly book in front of me right now to help you out. Wish I did. I'm sure someone on here has had this same problem and should be along eventually to help you out. Best of luck.

Hi Ripp,
I do have my manual in front of me, and it is of no help that I can see. It's kind of a 'catch 22' situation - the motor is keeping the window from coming up, and the window is keeping me from getting the motor out. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, just wondered if anyone else had a sinilar experience.

Did you try soaking the mechanisms down with wd-40 then putting a battery charger on the motor to activate it?

How did you connect 12 volts to run power window motor?
You have to run ground wire to the outside of the motor housing and the positive lead to one of the motor connectors. One motor connector is for up and the other is down.If you connected ground/negative to one and positive to the other motor connector the motor will not run.

Window

I just changed mine on a 79.After I got the metal cover off and could see the motor I reached in and unscrewed 3 7/16 bolts that hold the motor in.Than drilled out 1 rivet THE BOTTOM 1 .After that I just pushed a little to disingage the motor from the assy and it came out.If you get your new motor first it helps.
Autozone on line $35.00 My window was up but I think it will work down.I stiil have the panel off I will take a look Thrusday afternoon.

I cheched the window is in the way.
You can unplug the motor and try hook straight to batt.

I got the problem fixed. For those of you who didn't understand the situation, the window was in front of the motor bolts, as it was DOWN. The window has to be UP to unbolt the motor. The motor had water in it, hence not working. I had to disassemble the motor and raise it up manually. I had already had the motor and regulator out of the door on the car, so I was familiar with how it came apart. Thanks to all.
