I need a drivers side power window regulator and the door handle/lock mechanism to fit a 76. PM me or e-mail coco78 at saa.net.
I can find them new but I'm cheap ;LOL
thanks
Craig sr.

I have those parts from an 80 door; I don't know if they will work for you or not.

The regulator was a new GM unit about a year before the car was wrecked. Let me know if I can help.

Gary, do you have regulators for both the driver's and passenger's side? How much are you asking for them?

Mike

Mike,

Yes I have both. In fact I have both doors, The pass. side is complete except for the interior panel. The pass. side had a new gear install at about the same time as I replaced the regulator on the other side. Just did them both to get that over with. The GM unit cost a little over $200 when I got it. I have been hoping to find someone that can use the doors, but I guess I could take the pass. side apart. The P/W motor is there also for the pass. side if you need that. I'd really like to find someone that would take the whole door complete; That would save me a lot of work taking it apart.

Let me know what you are wanting and I'll get a price for you. If you have a price in mind of what you are think of, tell me that also.

Gary

I've just started looking, so I don't have an idea on price just yet. I'm interested in both regulators, maybe with the motors if the price is reasonable.

Mike

Mike,

I did some quick checks on prices in the Mid America catolog. Regulators are $160 ea. and the motors are $129 ea. Just for reference.

I only have the pass. side motor; so I can only help you with both regulators and the motor for the pass. side. If you buy new that would cost around $440 for the parts I have used.

I let you have both regulators and the one motor for $150 + shipping. Let me know if that sound like something you be interested in. You can contact me directly at gclark@coastaccess.com

I replaced the gears and bushings on mine and it is working better then before (smoother) except before it would go up too high and down too much and now it leaves a 1/2 gap at the top. Is this an adjustment somewhere or did I get the motor a tooth off? It seems like the travel is less or maybe it is just not sloppy any more.

that is a good price, the parts to rebuild mine were about $80

There are adjustable stops that can be set to adjust the stop points for the up position. One for the front and another for the rear of the glass. These are at the top of the tracks that the guide wheels on the glass it self run in. When installing the motor I don't know that you can install it off.

Hope this helps in some way.

thanks, I will look into it what I think is funny is before the window would go up so high it would hit the top if you raised it with the door open and go down way below the door level, now it stops just at door level going down and goes up almost to the top and leaves a 1/2 gap. It works much smoother now though.
