Power window stuck down

It appears that the power window motor on the drivers side of my "76" is bad (dead shord across motor terminals). Everything I read says to remove the entire regulator with the motor attached and block the torsion spring before removing the motor. Problem is the window is down and I can't raise it to remove the glass. Any suggestions?

well, to start with. Do you know that the 2 terminals on the motor 1 is up and 1 is down and it gets ground thru the case? If, so, ok.
You might be able to get a hand in there and remove the nuts on the lower window track, remove the glass that way. Removing the track retainer bolts will get the rest of it lose enough to wiggle it out, I think. This job sux, get bandaids and beer

Thanks for the info. Yea I know one terminal is up and one down but there is a dead shord between the terminals on the motor. If I try to raise the window it blows a fuse. Beer and bandaids are ready.
