I'm curious if anyone has an accurate percentage for the powertrain losses with the TH350? Someone here must have dynoed their engine directly, then put it in the car and found out what power was indicated at the wheels...

Thanks,
Joe

Yeah, I was just curious if anyone had tested out these particular cars, to find more accurate numbers...

According to a book called American Supercar 2 published by HP Books, written by a very experianced Muscle Car writer, the late Roger Huntington, the THM-350 absorbed about 15 HP below 6000RPM.

The problem with dyno Vs in car numbers is the other equipment that gets added on to the engine once installed in the car, from the air cleaner to the alternator and any other power robbing devices. So its hard to tell exactly how much the trans itself eats up. But there is also the extra toruqe mutiplication that an auto trans adds.

I would like to see that measured.
